Summer storm

Yesterday afternoon we had a southerly change -the only place south to us in New Zealand is Antarctica, so south is COLD. Storm clouds gathered and I had to turn lights on although it was only 4.15pm. There was some thunder and lightning, and then some pretty big hailstones. The temperature dropped to 2 degrees C briefly, but it was all over in half an hour.

Especially as the photos were taken on the same day!

I'm glad we missed that one. Hail stones can damage our young fruit so not good.

Your veges in the last post look good - hope you enjoyed eating them. Straight from the garden taste so good!

So while we are sweltering in Sydney you have hail. Incredible.

Wild looking clouds Shirley, and well captured. Makes me tend towards the gentleness of your previous post re. vegetables. It sure looks a healthy garden!

This weird weather is kind of scary. In Ontario, Canada we should be in the deep freeze of winter but a warm spell melted the river ice and caused flooding. Some people had to evacuate from their homes. It's not so much the weather because this can happen, it's the switching from one extreme to the next within a few days that's a little scary.
